December 31st, 2011 - Hahn Brings 4th Golden Driller to Team XXX

December 31st.   Team XXX started 2012 with a huge heaping dose of momentum, as Blake Hahn brought Triple X Race Co our fourth Golden Driller by winning the Eco Tech Midget main event at this years Tulsa Shootout. Hahn, the grandson of ASCS promoter Emmitt Hahn, battled with last year's champion Mike Ward in a Team XXX dominated race before slipping away to the victory.

 

December 29th, 2011 - Smith Closes Out 2011 with NSW Speedcar Championship

December 29th.   In the waning days of 2011, Matt Smith added a big title to his resume. Driving his #69 XXX Speedcar (Midget), Smith won the 70th running of the New South Wales Speedcar Championship at Tyrepower Sydney Speedway in Australia. Smith ran up front most of the evening, piloting his XXX into the lead for good with 8 laps to go while expertly handling the slick track conditions.

 

December 3rd, 2011 - Sullivan’s XXX Debut Ends in Victory

December 3rd.   Chad Sullivan and his car owner Ken Willsher made a successful XXX debut on Saturday night down under with a victory at Simpson Speedway in Victoria. After fighting fuel and pill issues early in the night, Sullivan ran through the B Main and came from 11th deep in the A to make a pass for the win with two laps left on the high side.

 

December 3rd, 2011 - McTaggert Takes 1st XXX Lightning Sprint Win in AU

December 3rd.  AJ McTaggert now holds the honor as Team XXX first Lightning Sprint winner in Australia. Piloting his Ford powered XXX Midget / Lightning Sprint, McTaggert took the win at Tyrepower Sydney Speedway to become the first XXX driver to score a victory under this sanction in AU.

 

November 26th, 2011 - Jones Wins on 360ci Season Debut

November 26th.   Current Australian 360ci Sprintcar Champion Ryan Jones opened up his 360ci Sprintcar racing season in the best way possible after winning the opening round of the Australian 360 Sprintcar Allstars Series at the Murray Bridge Speedway. After starting on the front row of the final Jones battled hard with former series Champion Colin Brooks and former Australian Champion Tony Moule but after a number of lead changes it was Jones who greeted the chequered flag first in his Murray Machining and Sheds #1 XXX.

 

November 12th, 2011  - Covington Leads XXX 1-2 finish at ASCS National Race in Las Cruces

November 12th.   Matt Covington has been stringing a good run of races together in the recent weeks, capping off his hot performance with a win against the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Saturday night at Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, NM. Capitalizing on positive momentum coming from the Short Track Nationals, Matt took the OEM #11c XXX to a 4th place finish on Friday night’s feature after coming from last to win his heat race. The finish locked him into Saturday night’s a main, where he parlayed a front row starting spot to the wire to wire win over the best 360 racers in the land. Brady Bacon helped fill the podium by bringing his XXX sprint home second. Congratulations to Matt and the team on the W!

 

November 13th, 2011 - McDonald’s Maiden XXX Voyage a Winner

November 13th.   The Edge Parts & Performance team is off to a rip roaring start at their home track of Ruapuna Speedway in Christchurch, New Zealand. Former NZ national champion Jamie McDonald took up team owner Jason Scott’s invitation to run a XXX chassis on the Sunday afternoon meeting, and McDonald made the decision pay off by scoring the race win. McDonald took the lead with a three wide move on the super slick track, relegating Scott to second place in his own car on the day. Congratulations to Jamie, Jason and the rest of the team on the successful meeting!

 

November 12th, 2011  - Smith tops Speedcars at Sydney

November 12th.   After a quietly successful American season, Matt Smith returned home to Australia and has found success early in the Midget / Speedcar season. On Saturday night, Matt took the Speedcar win in the #69 XXX at Tyrepower Sydney Speedway in New South Wales, Australia.

 

November 5th, 2011 - Gardner Finishes Season on High Note

November 5th.   Cody Gardner finished out his championship season with a victory in the second of twin features on Saturday night. Running with the USCS, Gardner picked up his second victory of the year winning at Riverside International Speedway in Arkansas.

 

October 28th, 2011 - Bacon Wins Short Track Nationals Prelim, 2nd in Finale

October 28th.   Brady Bacon wrapped up an awesome weekend at the short track nationals with a win on the Friday night preliminary feature and a runner up performance in the $15,000 to win, 40 lap Short Track Nationals on Saturday night. Brady led all 25 laps from his outside pole position for the feature win that showcased multiple Team XXX drivers making top ten finishes. Travis Rilat took his XXX to a third place finish, while ASCS Lone Star region champion Matt Covington came home 6th and leading Lucas Oil ASCS Rookie of the Year contender Aaron Reutzel finishing 10th. All four drivers would make Saturday night’s finale, with Bacon advancing up to second place before the final flag flew, scoring himself a $10,000 payday for the runner up spot.

 

October 22nd, 2011 - Herrington Ends Cajun Sprint Season with 5th Win

October 22nd.   If it weren’t for some early season motor woes, Mike Herrington would be standing atop the final Cajun Sprints Association point standings. As is, Herrington wwill have to settle for being the most successful driver on the tour, with a series leading 5th win coming on the fnal race night of the year at Pike County Speedway in Mississippi with his XXX chassis.

 

October 22nd, 2011 - Shipley Runs the Alphabet for 600 Win

October 22nd.   An incredible weekend of racing culminated with a back to front feature win for Josh Shipley on Saturday night. After chasing mechanical gremlins, Shipley won his B Feature then came from a 17th place starting position to challenge for the lead with 6 laps left. As the only driver on the high side of the track, Shipley rode the rim around the leader to take the lead and complete the improbable run, as he crossed the final flags with a full straightaway advantage in his XXX 600.

 

October 21st, 2011 - Brookens Keeps On Winning

October 21st.   Jimmy Brookens rounded his season out with a win on Friday night, giving him his 9th victory of 2011. Brookens took his XXX 600 to winner’s circle at Path Valley Speedway in Spring Run, PA.

 

October 8th, 2011 - Montieth Wins 2nd In A Row, 6th Of The Year At Lincoln

October 8th.   Four-time Lincoln track champ Brian Montieth is known as “the Edge,” but he’s been far from it with racing-winning passes over the past two major shows at Lincoln Speedway. Montieth started third in Saturday’s 23rd Annual Hank Gentzler Manufacturers Appreciation Race and drove under outside front row starter Greg Hodnett for second in the first turns. After that, he chased polesitter and race-long leader Danny Dietrich for the first 18 laps before pulling the slider to make the race-winning pass in turns three and four of lap 19.

 

October 8th, 2011 - Sturch Tops Tough Field @ Diamond Park

October 8th.   A tough 2011 got a lot better for Justin Sturch on Saturday night, as the former I-30 track champion picked up a victory on Saturday night. Racing at Diamond Park Raceway in Arkansas, Sturch beat some of the toughest hombres in the south including Gary Taylor, Tim Crawley and Gary Wright to pick up the victory in his #9 XXX chassis, his first W of the year.

 

October 8th, 2011 - Baker Rides Late Momentum

October 8th.   With a handful of wins coming during the year, Cody Baker was not ready to be finished with his race season. After the season finished up at Double X Speedway, Baker brought his XXX Sprint to Valley Speedway in Missouri for their non-points events and topped the field this past Saturday night, winning the A Feature over the rest of the 22 car group.

 

October 8th, 2011 - Burt Wins Sherm Toller Memorial

October 8th.   Jeremy Burt was the class of the field on Saturday night at Marysville Raceway Park. Following a heat race win, Burt, the 2007 MRP track champion, lead every lap of the Sherm Toller Memorial for the victory in the 360 Sprint division.

 

October 7th, 2011 - Bacon’s Non Wing Success Continue at Gold Crown Nats

October 7th.   The run of big race wins for Brady Bacon continued this past weekend at Tri City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, IL. At the Gold Crown Nationals Prelim Night, Bacon beat a stout field of non-wing sprints en route to the victory, his third of the year.

 

October 1st, 2011 - Michael’s 8th Title in Reach after Win

October 1st.   Curt Michael and the Bill Gallagher #5g inched one step closer to claiming their second URC points championship in a row and #8 overall for Curt with a main event win on Saturday night at Delaware International Speedway. Michael took the lead on lap two in his XXX chassis and set sail from the field, only letting his competitors close in on him after yellow flags.

 

October 1st, 2011 - Shipley Clinches Title with Win

October 1st.    Josh Shipley clinched the ASCS 2 Cactus Region 600 title with a win this week in his XXX 600 at USA Raceway in Tuscon, AZ. The win, which came by ½ a lap over his nearest competitor, guarantees Josh the points championship with a remarkable two races left on the schedule for the Cactus Region.

 

October 1st, 2011 - Hahn’s XXX Midget Slides To Victory

October 1st.    Blake Hahn thought he was having too easy a go of things at Creek County Speedway in Oklahoma. After leading the first 12 laps of the 15 lap ASCS 2 Midget main event with no one near him, Hahn got a stiff late challenge from Kevin Bayer that turned into a contest of slidejobs in the waning laps. On the final circuit, Blake stuck a move coming out of turn two, then maintained speed on the high side of turns three and four to hold off the charging Bayer for the win in his XXX midget.

 

September 30th, 2011 - Owings Ends Season On High Note

September 30th.   Steve Owings ended 2011 in the same way he started it – in victory lane. Racing in the 358 Sprint division at Trail Way Speedway in Pennsylvania, Owings found victory lane for the third time this season after running down and passing the race leader in traffic at the halfway point of the race to take the win in his XXX.

 

September 30th, 2011 - McClelland Further Extends Points Lead with Win

September 30th.   Race win #8 was another big one for Sean McClelland, who led every lap of the Sprint Car Fall Nationals at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oklahoma and extended his points lead with the OCRS in the process. Post race, Sean spoke highly of the setup his crew chief put into his XXX chassis…”I really have to thank Shane tonight (Crew Chief Shane Vandervliet). He really did everything to the car. I didn’t even have to ask him what he was doing. It drove like a dream tonight.”

 

September 24th, 2011 - “The Edge” Wins Kenny Weld Memorial

September 24th.   If there’s a big race being run at Lincoln Speedway in PA, you know Brian Montieth will be in the hunt for the win. On Saturday night, one of the biggest nights of the year went to “The Edge”, as Brian took a page from the Fred Rahmer playbook en route to winning the A Main event which paid out over $6,800. Montieth made his moves on race restarts, taking second from the aforementioned Rahmer and the lead from Stevie Smith after early lap cautions bunched the field up. “My hat’s off to Scott (Zellers) and the boys” said Montieth, “They gave me a car that I could pretty much drive anywhere.”

 

September 24th, 2011 - 3rd Straight Non Wing Nationals Win for Miller

September 24th.   Kyle Miller is near an unstoppable force running wingless in Oregon. For the third straight year, Miller topped Cottage Grove Speedway’s Non Wing Nationals 50 lap A Feature. After winning his preliminary race the night before, Miller started in the first row on Saturday night, and ran second for the first 38 laps of the 50 lap main, before finding just enough traction off the bottom of turn 4 to rocket down the front straightaway into the lead. Congratulations Kyle!

 

September 24th, 2011 - Fell Closes Deming Season with Win

September 24th.   Aaron Fell closed his 2011 season with a big shot of momentum after winning the season finale at Deming Speedway on Saturday night. Fell led the early portion of the main, then regained the lead late in the 30 lap affair on the super slick surface with his DLX 1200.

 

September 23rd, 2011 - Thiel Wins #2

September 23rd.   Race win number two on the year is in the bag for Scotty Thiel and the Scott Thiel Motorsports #64 XXX. Running at Chilton Speedway in Wisconsin, Thiel finished second in his heat and put his brand new, 2011 XXX in victory lane later in the night to secure the W.

 

September 23rd, 2011 - Holmwood Takes DLX 1200 to Win

September 23rd.   The back half of the 2011 season has been good to Derek Holmwood, who had his DLX 1200 mini sprint setup immaculately on Friday night at Deming Speedway. Holmwood led all 25 laps of the second to last race of the year from his pole starting position.

 

September 17th, 2011 - Gardner’s 1st Win of ’11 Secures Track Championship

September 17th.   A late season race win propelled Cody Gardner to the track championship at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, AR. Gardner took his XXX to victory lane on Saturday night from the pole position, securing the season championship in the process.

 

September 17th, 2011 - Shuman Wins Again at Lincoln

September 17th.   Casey Shuman has spent his summer proving that it doesn’t matter what car he’s in, he can put it in victory lane. Piloting the Robbie Rice owned #22R XXX, Shuman won for the 6th time at Lincoln Park Speedway in their wingless sprint division, driving for his fifth different car owner. Shuman previously parked the Barnhill Motorsports owned XXX sprinter in Victory Lane at Lincoln on July 9th.

 

September 17th, 2011 - “Wild Bill” Wins in CA

September 17th.   After racing sporadically over the past two seasons, “Wild” Bill Aton found his way to victory lane for the first time in 2011 and the 25th time in his young career on Saturday night at Antioch Speedway in California. Aton hugged the bottom of the track for the wire to wire win in only his fourth race of the year.

 

September 17th, 2011 - Late Season Roll Continues for Jimmy Brookens

September 17th.   The momentum continues to build for Team XXX driver Jimmy Brookens. Driving his XXX 600 micro sprint, Brookens pulled off another win this past weekend, scoring his eighth triumph of the year at his hometown track, Shippensburg Speedway in Pennsylvania. .

 

September 17th, 2011 - Kristan Captures Career Defining Win @ Plymouth

September 17th.   The Frank Filksov Memorial Fall Classis has been a race that Brian Kristan has been trying to win for as long as he’s strapped into a Sprint Car. When he unhooked his belts from his XXX chassis on Saturday night, Kristan stepped out of his car with the biggest win of his career, as he topped the strong field of IRA Sprints at the Plymouth Dirt Track in Wisconsin to take home this year’s Fall Classic. Kristan stepped out to the lead early, and held off all challengers to bring home the W in the 27 lap feature event.

 

September 16th, 2011 - Fell Slides His Way to Victory

September 16th.   Aaron Fell made his DLX 1200 mini sprint into a slidejob machine on Friday night en route to a main event win. After leading the first 12 laps of the main event without challenge, a mid race caution gave second place runner Brock Lemley the opportunity to begin the slidejob parade. For evry move Brock made, Aaron countered, and when the dust settled, the DLX reigned supreme for the Abbotsford, BC native, as Aaron won his third feature of the season.

 

September 16th, 2011 - First Feature Win for Biggs at Willamette

September 16th.   There is nothing sweeter than your first feature win, and after 3 years of efforting, Ariel Biggs and car owner Don Emery finally found paydirt on Friday night at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, OR. Running their Ford Focus Midget, the 16 year old Biggs put a whoopin’ on the field for her first career win, followed by fellow XXX midget driver Gaylon Stewart.

 

September 10th, 2011 - Hammock’s Birthday Wish Granted with Feature Win

September 10th.   With his wife and kids in the grandstands to celebrate his birthday, Jerry Hammock found victory lane with the Sprint Series of Texas on Saturday the 10th at Heart O’ Texas Speedway. Jerry came from 11th to take over the lead midrace and score the eventual victory.

 

September 10th, 2011 - Brookens Bests Mother Nature @ Shippensburg

September 10th.   Mother Nature can’t stop Jimmy Brookens, nor can many of the other 600 drivers in Pennsylvania. This past weekend at Shippensburg Speedway, Brookens outlasted a 2 ½ hour rain delay to pick up win #7 of 2011 at his home track aboard his XXX 600 micro sprint.

 

September 10th, 2011 - Dave Ekern Triumphs at I-90

September 10th.   Dave Ekern was not to be denied a race win in the 2011 season. With the year winding down, Ekern made the most of his pole position starting spot by leading all 20 laps of the IMCA sprint car feature at I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD.

 

September 10th, 2011 - Versatile Miller Wins with Wings Too

September 10th.   Ever at the top of the XXX feature wins list, Kyle Miller got er done on the weekend of September 10th with the wing on, as he took the victory in the Limited Sprint feature at Cottage Grove Speedway in Oregon. Miller used the bottom of the track to take the lead in the late stages of the race, climbing his combined feature win total to 6 on the season as of 9/26.

 

September 9th, 2011 - McClelland Wins 3rd Straight OCRS Feature

September 9th.   Sean McClelland is looking for his second points championship in as many years, as he continues to pull away in the OCRS points hunt with a third straight victory this past Friday night. Running at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oklahoma, McClelland pulled away early and often in the 25 lap main event to take his 6th victory of the year in his XXX chassis.

 

September 4th, 2011 - Miller Sweeps Sunday Night at Cottage Grove

September 4th.   To call Kyle Miller a non-wing specialist is a disservice: the young Oregon native has won races and championships with wings on as well. What may be more appropriate is to call him the man to beat in NW Non Wing Racing, as Kyle took on the 27 car field Sunday night at Cottage Grove Speedway and won every race he entered on the night to claim the non-wing win in his XXX chassis.

 

September 3rd and 4th, 2011 - Beebe Sweeps 305 Lake Ozark Nationals

September 3rd and 4th.   After finally conquering his mechanical gremlins in his engine, Brian Beebe put everything together to win his first sprint car races during the biggest weekend of the year at Lake Ozark Speedway in Missouri. Running in the 305 division, Beebe won the feature on both night of racing during the Lake Ozark Speedway Nationals in his XXX chassis. Congratulations Brian, Doug, Jerry and the crew on your victories!

 

September 3rd, 2011 - Joyceville Jet Wins Labor Day Double Header

September 3rd.   Rick Wilson loves Labor Day Weekend. For the fourth time in his career, Wilson took Sunday nights Labor Day Classic victory at Brighton Speedway in Ontario, Canada. On top of the late race pass he pulled off for the win on Sunday night, Wilson was also the victor on Saturday night’s prelim, taking over the lead of that race midway through en route to a double dip winning weekend with the Southern Ontario Sprints.

 

September 3rd, 2011 - XXX 1-2 Finish at MRP

September 3rd.   Jeremy Burt and Brent Dothage staged a dogfight on Saturday night at Marysville Raceway Park, as the two Team XXX drivers sliced and diced their way to one of the most exciting races California has seen this year. When the dust settled, it was Burt, the 2007 MRP champion, narrowly nipping Dothage at the line as the two drivers and their XXX chassis smoked the field on their way to 1-2 finish.

 

September 3rd, 2011 - McClelland Leads XXX 1-2 at Salina

September 3rd.   Sean McClelland extended his points lead and won another feature with OCRS sprint series on Saturday night at Salina Highbanks Speedway. McClelland split the difference between the leaders on the opening lap from his third place starting position, then lead fellow Team XXX driver Danny Smith around the track for the victory.

 

September 3rd, 2011 - Feature Win for Allard at Placerville

September 3rd.   Season championship night at Placerville Speedway in California found John Taylor’s #35 XXX in victory lane again, this time with Stephen Allard at the helm. Allard held of track champion Andy Forsberg to take the victory from his pole position starting spot.

 

September 3rd, 2011 - Boland’s First 600 Win Comes at Cowtown in XXX

September 3rd.   Congrats go out to Johnny Boland who won his first 600 Restricted main event at Cowtown Speedway on September 3rd in his XXX 600. Johnny and his dad Don have been working hard on assembling their 600 and getting it up to speed, and their hard work paid off with the Saturday night win over Labor Day weekend on the ultra slick surface.

 

September 2nd, 2011 - Montieth Wins Feature in 3 x 20 Night at The Grove

September 2nd.   “The Edge” had things running strong on Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway. On Triple 20 lap Feature Night, Brian Montieth put the Jerry Parrish / Premier Autoworks #21 XXX in victory lane as he won the first of the triple 20 lap mains, then followed that effort up with a 3rd and 5th place finish in the ensuing features.

 

September 2nd, 2011 - Akerstrom Records 1st 360 Win

September 2nd.   Amid the miles and miles of endless sagebrush, Colton Akerstrom navigated the Montana wilderness and a crash happy field to record his first 360 win. After a successful career in the Sportsman ranks, Akerstrom found victory lane for the first time in his 360 at Electric City Speedway in Great Falls, MT in his new XXX chassis.

 

August 27th, 2011 - Jersey Jet Wins Jersey Rush

August 27th.   Not even the leftover remnants would deny the Jersey Jet, JJ Grasso, from winning his first 410 race on Tuesday night. Piloting John Pinter’s #92 XXX for just the second time, Grasso took the lead from Mark Smith on lap 14 then ran away from the field to take the 30 lap, $5,000 “Jersey Rush” win on Tuesday at New Egypt Speedway in New Jersey. Congratulations to JJ, John and the team on your early success!

 

August 27th, 2011 - McClelland Extends OCRS Points Lead with Win

August 27th.   Thunderbird Speedway was the sight of the latest victory for Sean McClelland and his XXX sprint car. On Saturday night. Sean took over the lead in the 25 laps OCRS feature on lap and was unchallenged on his way to the victory as he extended his points lead in the series. Fellow Team XXX racer Rafe Essary finished second.

 

August 27th, 2011 - No Brakes = No Problems for Richert

August 27th.   Jerry Richert Jr won his third UMSS feature of the season and extended his points lead on Saturday night at Rice Lake Speedway in Wisconson. Jerry led all twenty laps of the feature event with no challenges, despite losing his brakes at the midway point of the feature. Congratulations Jerry!

 

August 27th, 2011 - Enright Conquers Motor Woes & Lonestar Speedway

August 27th.   After a season filled with motor issues, Russel Enright finally found the right combination of power to go with his XXX chassis as he won his first race of 2011 season with the Southern Thunder Sprints. From his inside row four starting position, Enright picked his way through the tough field on the ultra slick surface of Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, TX on his way to his first W of the season.

 

August 27th, 2011 - Christian Pads Points Lead with Ocean Win

August 27th.   With only 3 races to go, Jimmy Christian is sitting pretty in the Wingless Sprints division at Ocean Speedway. Following a victory during the Johnny Key Classic on Friday night, Christian enjoys a 50 point pad on his points lead as the year winds down.

 

August 27th, Ditsworth Extends Points Lead with Win

August 27th.   Jayson Ditsworth is one race away from claiming the points title in the 305 Sprint division at 34 Raceway in Burlington, IA. On Saturday night, Ditsworth took advantage of his pole position starting spot by bringing home his fourth win of the season to extend his advantage heading into Friday night’s Brain Hetrick Memorial which will determine the title.

 

August 26th, 2011 - Marks Takes The Grove In His New XXX Wedge Chassis

August 26th.   Brent Marks held off a charging Brian Montieth to claim the sprint car feature at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night by .067 seconds, or a half car length. It was close. Marks started seventh in the 25-lap sprint main and advanced into fourth on the first circuit, and worked his way into 1st by lap 8. From there, Marks held off all challenges, and edged out fellow XXX racer Montieth at the finish line.

August 26th, 2011 - 6 Wins for Brookens in PA

August 26th.   Jimmy Brookens continued his rampage through the PA 600 circuit with another win this past weekend. Battling both the 600 field at Lindas Speedway in Jonestown PA and the incoming Hurricane Irene, Brookens found the speed to complete a pass coming off the outside of turn four on the final lap to pick up win number 6 on the season in his XXX 600.

 

August 25th, 2011 - Aaron Fell Survives for Win #2

August 26th.   On a hooked up racing surface, Aaron Fell survived through numerous bumps & jumps to take his second win of 2011 in the 1200 division at Deming Speedway. With new clay on the surface that caused more wheelies and hiccups than could be counted, Fell found smooth racing surface around the bottom of the track as he passed for the lead on lap 22 en route to the feature win in his DLX 1200.

 

August 20th, 2011 - Back to Back XXX Wins for Westfall

August 20th.   Winning races is what Matt Westfall does best, and this past Saturday night at Waynesfield Raceway Park, Matt was up to his old ways. Matt led all twenty laps of the green to checkered main event, dominating the feature with little challenge in his #54 XXX non wing sprint.

 

August 19th, 2011 - Parsons Wins 4th Non Wing Feature of 2011, Leads TSCS Points

August 19th.   The initial season of the TSCS Sprint Cars has been a major success for Johnny Parsons III. Driving the Reactor Racing #22 XXX chassis, Parsons picked up his 4th feature win out of 9 races run on Friday night at St Croix Valley Raceway in Wisconsin. August 20th, 2011 - Clean Sweep for Lehr

August 20th.   Todd Lehr is a race winning machine, as he parked his #83 DLX 1200 in victory lane this past weekend. Lehr pulled out a clean sweep at Wilmot Raceway in Wisconsin for his 5th win of season.

 

August 20th, 2011 - Heath 3 For 4

August 20th.   With all but two of the cars in the 360 division timing in within half a second racing was competitive all night long at Skagit Speedway. Colton Heath and Brock Lemley were the heat race winners. In the main event Heath took the lead at the start and was never headed. A few times cars peeked inside in heavy traffic but could never quite get past. Heath captured his 3rd victory ijn his last 4 starts.

 

August 19th, 2011 - Holmwood Leads All 25 at Deming

August 19th.   Congratulations go out to Derek Holmwood for taking his first local win of the season in his DLX 1200 chassis. After winning the Tulsa Shootout, Derek meticulously put together a new DLX chassi that he debuted just a few short weeks ago. On this Friday, he was clicking on all cylinders as he led all 25 laps to score his first win of the year at his home track.

 

August 18th, 2011 - Hahn Handles First Humboldt Outing

August 18th.   The Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midgets made their first foray into the Sunflower State with a Friday night showing at Humboldt Speedway.  Advancing from his outside 2nd row starting spot, Sapulpa, Oklahoma's reigning 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Champion and 2011 Tulsa Shootout Outlaw Sweeper, Blake Hahn shot by the polesitter at the midway point of the 20 lap affair. Hahn would survive a late caution flag and take his 1st Lucas Oil ASCS triumph of the 2011 campaign aboard the Speedway Vending, Metric Cycles, XXX Race Co., Hoosier Tire, LaJoie Seating, and Tel Star Communications sponsored no. 52. It would be Hahn's second career Lucas Oil ASCS Midget score following a Cowtown Speedway victory last November.

 

August 14th, 2011 - Krysl Closes Out 3rd Straight Title with 3 Wins

August 14th.   Congratulations go out to Ron Krysl, who finished up his third straight points championship in his XXX sprint car with three straight main event wins. Krysl took the track title at Stuart Community Track in Stuart NE on the strength of 5 feature wins over the course of 2011, including one this past Sunday to seal the title up.

 

August 13th, 2011 - Heath Wins At Grays Harbor

August 13th.   After almost winning the Skagit Speedway 360 Nationals last weekend with a last lap pass attempt, Heath backed up his great run with a win at Grays Harbor Raceway.

August 13th, 2011 - Davis Continues Sunset Dominance, Wins Third NWWT Main

August 13th.   BANKS, Ore. - Gary Davis has made himself at home at Sunset Speedway this season. For the third time in as many trips the Northwest Wingless Tour sprint car series has made to the Banks, Ore. track this season it was Davis who was in the winners circle following Saturday's main event.  The Albany, Ore. driver needed just a few laps to charge from the fourth starting position to get by pole-sitter to take the lead. From there, Davis never looked back, driving the Robert O'Neil No. 9 Triple X.

 

August 13th, 2011 - Donnelly’s 4th Win Comes at Bear Ridge

August 13th.   SCONE series points leader Chris Donnelly was up to his old ways again on Saturday night, picking up another feature win. Foru the fourth time in 2011, Donnelly found himself in victory lane at Bear Ridge Speedway in Vermont with a win over the 23 car SCONE field underneath the full moon.

 

August 13th, 2011 - Westfall Takes XXX to Win

August 13th.   Back behind the wheel of his own #54 XXX chassis this weekend, Matt Westfall proved why he is one of the most talented non-wingers in Ohio these days. Starting in the eighth position, Westfall worked his way up to third place by lap six, second by lap eight, then slowly caught the race leader and surprised him on the final corner of the final lap to take the lead and the win at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Ohio.

 

August 13th, 2011 -Youngman’s 5 Year Search for Victory Lane Ends Saturday Night

August 13th.   Big congratulations go out to Brett Youngman who has perennially been the bridesmaid over the past three seasons in his XXX wingless sprint. On Saturday night, Youngman picked up his first victory in 5 years of open wheel racing with a win at Marysville Raceway Park in California. The current MRP points leader in the Wingless Spec Sprint class, Youngman took to the point early and fended off some stiff challenged on his way to the win in his XXX chassis.

 

August 13th, 2011 - Adams Grabs Another STS Win

August 13th.   Wherever he travels, Koty Adams is a threat to win in his Racesaver XXX Sprint. Running again with the Southern Thunder Sprint at Champion Park Speedway in Minden, LA, Adams grabbed race win #4 on the year in his XXX chassis, beating the strong field of contenders to the checkered flag.

 

August 13th, 2011 - Terrell On Top at Petaluma

August 13th.   Bradley Terrell has had an up and down season at Petaluma Speedway, and this past weekend he was back at peak form. Starting in the second row, Terrell made his way forward to the lead by lap seven en route to his third feature win of the season. Making the win more remarkable was the brand new torsion bar and shock package they put onto their XXX chassis this week.

 

August 13th, 2011 - Skyler Gee Wins Again

August 13th.   Strong genetics and a strong setup helped Skyler Gee to his second race win at Central Alberta Raceway in Canada. Skyler, the son of former World of Outlaws competitor Tim Gee, took his XXX 600 micro sprint to his second victory of the year at the Rimby based track.

 

August 13th, 2011 - Turnbull Wins At Castrol

August 13th.   Trevor Turnbull is loving his XXX chassis this year. Following a third place run in his heat, Turnbull dialed up the pressure in the A Main event to capture another victory, taking the 20 car to field out to the woodshed for the feature win.

 

August 12th, 2011 - Esh Wins At The Groove With An All XXX Podium

August 12th.   Doug Esh waited until the final turns of the final lap to steal the win in Friday’s 25-lap sprint car feature at Williams Grove Speedway. After starting in the 12th spot, Esh earned a $500 bonus for the win that ended up being worth more than $4,100.  The podium was rounded out by all TeamXXX racers, with Brent Marks coming home in second from his 7th starting spot, and Derek Sell finishing 3rd after leading the initials laps.

August 12th, 2011 - Ruhl Wins First Feature

August 12th.   Piloting the Jim Wohfeil Ford Powered #3w XXX, Ryan Ruhl captured his first career ASCS win with the ASCS SOD on Friday night. At Cherry Raceway in Fife Lake MI., Ruhl parlayed and isndie row starting spot to the lead early and motored away from the field for an easy win.

 

August 7th, 2011 - Brady Bacon Sweeps USAC Knoxville Non-wing Nationals

August 7th.   With another great crowd on hand, Brady Bacon was without peer at the third running of the USAC Knoxville Non-wing Nationals on Sunday night at the Knoxville Raceway. Bacon posted quick-time, won his heat and the feature. It was the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma driver’s first win at a track in which he has played the bridesmaid on a few occasions. It came aboard a XXX Chassis with Wesmar power and was worth $5,000.
Brady was complimentary of his ride Sunday. "The car was just good all night," he says of the XXX Chassis. "Running with a wing at this place helps you a lot when you take it off. Everything slows down, and it helps you keep the car straighter.".

July 30th, 2011 - Rilat Reels In ASCS Regional Showdown Loot at Devil’s Bowl

July 30th.   Travis Rilat picked up a $2,000 win just a few short miles from his Forney, TX, home by winning Saturday night’s 25-lap The Oil Medics ASCS Lone Star vs. Smiley’s Racing Products ASCS Gulf South main event at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. Rilat took the lead away from Matt Covington on the fifth round and went on to his second ASCS Regional win of the year aboard the F&J Construction/Murray & Sons/shoptheboss.com No. 29 Triple X.

July 30th, 2011 - Beechler Leads Team XXX to SST Podium Sweep

July 30th.   Ryan Beechler has virtually made himself a home in victory lane at Kennedale Speedway Park over the past couple of seasons, and on Saturday night, the Texas native again parked his XXX in the coveted top spot. Beechler took the lead on lap seven of the Sprint Series of Texas main event and held on for the victory, leading fellow XXX drivers Jeff Emerson and Rodney Henderson in an all XXX podium finish.

 

July 30th, 2011 - Kouba Wins Non Wing

July 30th.   Joseph Kouba found himself in victory lane non-wing style for the first time in his career this past Saturday night. Running with the UMSS Traditional Sprints, Kouba took the lead on the 4th lap and nenevr looked back on his way to victory lane for the first time without a wing in the Reactor Racing XXX chassis.

 

July 30th, 2011 - Thomas Ends Drought with Win Bridgeport

July 30th.   Congratulations go out to Bill Thomas on ending his two year win drought at Bridgeport Speedway. Thomas took his XXX 600 micro sprint to the win on Saturday night, taking the lead late and holding on for the victory.

 

July 30th, 2011 - Miller Wins 2nd NWWT At Cottage Grove

July 30th.   Kyle Miller ran a dominating main event again at Cottage Grove Speedway on Saturday and scored his second Northwest Wingless Tour sprint car series main event victory of the season, and with his third career NWWT triumph he is now the all-time leader in main event wins in the tour’s short history.  The Eugene, Ore. driver started the 30-lap main event on the outside of the front row after finishing second to hometown driver Dale Smith in the trophy dash event earlier in the evening. Miller took the lead off the start and led the entire way, never looking back as he lapped everyone but second and third place finishers. After a restart with seven laps completed, the final 23 laps went non-stop and Miller commenced on lapping one car after another aboard the Scott Miller No. 10 Nutter-powered Triple X.

 

July 29th, 2011 - Covington Extends Lone Star Lead

July 29th.   Matt Covington enjoyed a stellar weekend of results aboard the Dennis Marshala #11c XXX. On Friday night, Matt won his second ASCS regional feature of the year, taking the ASCS Lone Star v Gulf South region feature win at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco. On Saturday night, Covington further extended his points advantage with a third place finish in the Lone Star v Gulf South event at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, TX. July 29th, 2011 - Mattox Triples at Brill

July 29th.   For the past three Sprint Car events at Brill Motor Speedway in Oklahoma, no one has been hotter than Fred Mattox. Running in the USRA Champ Sprint Division, Mattox brought home his third straight win at the Meeker located track. Congratulations Fred & Crew!

 

July 29th, 2011 - Lindas Win Goes to Brookens

July 29th.   Facing down a stout field of 600s, Pennsylvania’s Jimmy Brookens found his way to victory lane for the 5th time in the 2011 season. Racing at Lindas Speedway in Jonestown, PA, Brookens parlayed his outside front row starting spot to the victory in his XXX 600 on Friday night.

 

July 23rd, 2011 - Herrington Back in Winner’s Circle

July 23rd.   After a roughly two month layoff from victory lane, Louisiana’s Michael Herrington piloted his XXX to victory lane for the fourth time in 2011. Herrington was the A Feature winner with the Cajun Sprinters Association at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL.

 

July 23rd, 2011 - Frank Phipps Cracks Victory Lane

July 23rd.   The 305 racing in the Midwest is as tough as they come, as the young stars of tomorrow frequently cut their teeth in the ultra affordable entry level division before going on to bigger ventures. On Saturday night, it was an old dog teaching some young pups a new trick, as veteran Frank Phipps found victory lane at Jackson Speedway in Minnesota, driving the Stoermer Racing #4 XXX.

 

July 23rd, 2011 - Lehr Busts Out the Broom at Sycamore

July 23rd.   Another race weekend is in the books and once again, Todd Lehr found his way to victory lane. Running his DLX 1200 at Sycamore Speedway in Illinois, Lehr set quick time, won his heat and won the feature event for his 4th XXX victory of the year, completing the ever elusive clean sweep.

 

July 22nd, 2011 - Forsberg Brings Family Owned #92 To Victory Lane

July 22nd.   Andy Forsberg is a race winning machine out in California, and this past weekend, it was his own XXX machine that took him to victory lane. Running the open 360 show at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Forsberg led all 25 laps of the feature that went caution free after getting underway. Congratulations Andy!

 

July 22nd, 2011 - Two Straight Wins for Mattox

July 22nd.   The incredible heatwave that hit the US this past weekend was no deterrent to Fred Mattox. Proving that his XXX chassis works on even the driest, slickest conditions, Mattox cruised to his second straight win at Brill Motor Speedway in Meeker, OK in the USRA Sprint division.

 

July 18th, 2011 - Three Straight Wins at Skagit for Pee Wee

July 18th.   A long, patience testing night at Skagit Speedway paid off in a big way for Brandon “Pee Wee” Harkness. After working through multiple delays during the night due to Mother Nature, Harkness led all 20 laps of the Sportsman Sprint A Main to take his third feature win in a row and fourth overall for the Steve Parker team in his XXX chassis.

 

July 16th, 2011 - Michael Tops URC @ Lincoln

July 16th.   Curt Michael has a ton of records to his name, including 7 URC Championships. But it was a new record set on Saturday night that has the driver of the Bill Gallagher #5G XXX feeling good. Michael led all 25 laps of the feature event at Lincoln Speedway in Pennsylvania on Saturday night to take the win in his XXX and in the process, set a new URC record for fastest race completed from start to finish. Congratulations, Curt, Bill, Sean and the rest of the 5G team on the win and new record!

 

July 16th, 2011 - Terrell Wins #2 at Petaluma

July 16th.   Bradley Terrell picked up win number two the easy way on Saturday night at Petaluma Speedway in California. Terrell led all 25 laps aboard his XXX without challenge, easily scoring the victory as the final 22 laps went without stoppage.

 

July 16th, 2011 - DLX 1200 Takes Todd Lehr to Top at Wilmot Again

July 16th.   Three out of the last four features at Wilmot Raceway have gone the way of the 83 car of Todd Lehr. Driving his DLX 1200, the former class champion again found himself in victory lane at the Wisconsin Track this past Saturday night.

 

July 15th, 2011 - McClelland Again Tops OCRS, Leads Points

July 15th.   Sean McClelland continues to do what he does best: wins races and lead point standings. On Friday night, Sean won his third OCRS feature and fourth main of the year at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oklahoma to extend his OCRS points lead with a pass for the lead with only two laps left. XXX chassis continue to do well in OCRS action, as three of the top five finishers including McClelland chose XXX chassis enroute to their great finishes.

 

July 15th, 2011 - Mooooove Over! Estes Sweeps Cowtown

July 15th.   When it comes to Texas, no one quite represents Team XXX like the Estes family. Brothers DJ and Colby have been consistent podium finishers week in and week out no matter where they are racing and this past weekend, it was DJ on top again, taking his XXX 600 from eighth to first in his heat and checking out in the a feature to sweep the night at Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale.

 

July 10th, 2011 - Ballou Scores Speedweek Win

July 10th.   Robert Ballou has been a top five car for the majority of the 2011 season, as the MPHG #81 XXX currently sits in 4th place in USAC National points. On Sunday night, Robert ascended to the top of the mountain with a win at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana on night number three of USAC Indiana Speedweek. Robert led every lap of the A Main event, running his trademark high line around the track. Robert is fourth place in Speedweek points with action coming next at Terra Haute on Wednesday.

 

July 10th, 2011 - Baker Wins Again At Double X

July 10th.   Cody Baker has really found his rhythm n his XXX chassis. Running again at Double X Speedway in Missouri, Baker found himself swapping sliders back and forth with race leader Tyler Blank until taking the point for good on lap 11 en route to his second feature win of the season.

 

July 9th, 2011 - Shuman Wins In 2nd Night With His XXX Beating A Field Of 410's With a 360

July 9th.   Casey Shuman, a night after testing his own Barnhill/Shuman machine with a new XXX 360 cubic inch power plant at Gas City to open Indiana Sprint Week, captured an impressive sprint car victory at Lincoln Park Speedway. After the leader collected an infield tire on the initial start, when the feature went green, Shuman was the man to beat, he rocketed from the re-start and Shane Hollingsworth was in chase throughout the feature. Shuman gathered a solid lead and built upon it over the course of the feature. As lapped traffic played a factor over the final laps, Shuman held his spot with Hollingsworth claiming second.

 

July 9th, 2011 - Heck Picks up First XXX Win

July 9th.   Congratulations go out to Doug Heck, winner of the non-wing sprint car feature on Saturday night at Paragon Speedway in Indiana. Heck ran the bulk of the race in second position before picking up speed in the late going, taking the lead with 8 to go and rocketing out to a full straightaway advantage as he crossed the stripe for the win.

 

July 9th, 2011 - 3 Wins Now for Donnelly at Bear Ridge

July 9th.   Chris Donnelly is a tough man to beat at the moment. Running with the SCONE series I the Northeast, Donnelly has now been in victory lane 3 times in the past month at Bear Ridge Speedway in Vermont, including this past Saturday night. Starting in 11th position, Chris passed a car per lap in his XXX on his way to the lead by lap 11, then lapped up to 7th place on the field. Congrats Chris!

 

July 9th, 2011 - Davis Take Another One At Sunset

July 9th.   Following a bad night on the Oregon coast a month ago, Gary Davis has since caught fire. On Saturday night, Davis won the Northwest Wingless Tour sprint car series main event at Sunset Speedway in dominating fashion for the second time in three weeks.  Davis, from Albany, Ore. was just a tiny fraction of a second's time in qualifying from a second consecutive clean sweep. Davis came from the fourth starting position to win his heat race, got the luck of the draw and won the trophy dash from the pole, and then led all 30 laps of the NWWT main event aboard his No. 9 Chevy-powered Triple X. This follows his win at the same 1/4-mile, slightly-banked red clay oval just two weeks earlier.

July 9th, 2011 - The Joyceville Jet Wins #2

July 9th.   The pill draw format used by the Southern Ontario Sprints played to Rick Wilson’s advantage on Saturday night. Racing at Brighton Speedway in Ontario, Wilson swept the evening and led every lap of every event he entered from the pole position en route to his second victory of the year with the SOS.

 

July 9th, 2011 - Scanlon Tears Up Beaver Dam

July 9th.   Using A DLX 1200 chassis (not a chainsaw), Jimmy Scanlon shredded the field at Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday night to score his first feature win in the Mike Whitmore #5 DLX 1200. Running as the support division for the Wolrd of Outlaws, Scanlon gave XXX their 3rd win in the state of Wisconsin this season.

 

July 9th, 2011 - Heath Picks Up Mid-Season Championship Night Win

July 9th.   Skagit Speedway mid-season championship night saw Colton Heath starting 8th in the scramble and moving up to fifth.  He used that starting position in the main to move quickly into 3rd position and set sight on the leaders. A lap 11 caution for a spinning 4th place car bunched the field. Heath used that restart to get around point leader Whitney and set sail for the leader, Jacobson. Nearing lap 20 the two encountered traffic with Jacobson choosing one line to get around the lapper and Heath the other. Heath passed Jacobson on lap 21 and was never headed the rest of the way. For Heath is was his first win in the LAW Motorsports car that has two Dirt Cup victories under it's belt.
Congrat's to Colton, Round Man, and the rest of the LAW Motorsport team.  Wish I was there to see it.  Lunch on me this week!

 

July 9th, 2011 - Can Anyone Stop Bill Johnson?

July 9th.  Another week of racing and another win for Bill Johnson. Once again at his home track of Arlington Raceway in Minnesota, Bill made his way into a late race lead and emerged victorious for the 4th time in 2011. Congrats Bill!

 

July 9th, 2011 - Harkness Wins Second Race In Three Weeks

July 9th.   In just a few short weeks back in a race car after a couple of years off Brandon Harkness has piloted the Steve Parker Sportsman Sprint car to two victories at Skagit Speedway. Harkness led all 20 laps of the midseason race for the win. His second in three weeks of racing.

 

July 8th, 2011 - Wilmot Win to Kristan

July 8th.   Brian Kristan racked up win number 2 this past Friday night. Running at Wilmot Raceway in Wisconsin, Kristan continued his strong recent run at his home track by taking his second win over the course of the past month in his XXX chassis.

 

July 4th, 2011 - Krysl Continues Stuart Dominance

July 4th.   Ron Krysl continued his string of great runs at Stuart Community Track in Nebraska. After winning the season championship the past two years in his XXX chassis, Krysl has kept his momentum going into this year, winning two of the first three nights of racing at the 1/5 mile clay oval including this past weekend’s event on July 4th.

 

July 2nd, 2011 - Donnelly Wins Back 2 Back SCONE Features

July 2nd.   Chris Donnelly is on a roll with the SCONE sprint car series, having won the series’ last two events. After taking the checkered flag at Canaan Dirt Speedway in New Hampshire on June 3rd, Donnelly was back in victory lane after a tenth to first run this past Saturday night at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT. Armed with a new shock package and a new XXX chassis, Donnelly looks to make it three straight when SCONE hits Bear Ridge on July 9th.

 

July 1st, 2011 - Brian McClelland Tops ASCS

July 1st.   The battle between the McClelland boys near the top of the Team XXX race wins list evened up this past weekend, with brother Brian scoring an ASCS Warrior v Sooner region contest at Springfield Raceway in Missouri. Brian led all twenty five laps of the main event for his XXX chassis win of the year, tying brother Sean on the leaderboard.

 

 

July 1st, 2011 - Kara King back in victory lane in XXX 600

July 1st.   Some last minute thrashing turned out for the better for Kara King. Running her XXX 600 micro sprint at the Powri / Badger Fanfest race this past weekend in Illinois, Kara had to switch her car to coil over suspension after a bad wreck left her in a lurch from the previous week. The switch to coils made a huge difference for the 24 year old, as she led all 20 laps of the 600 main at Belle-Clair Speedway to take the preliminary night feature win, her first victory with Powri since 2004.

 

July 1st, 2011 - Shipley Extends ASCS 2 Cactus Region Lead with Win

July 1st.   Josh Shipley has really taken to his new chassis and motor combination in 2011. Running XXX 600 chassis with Hollingworth power, Shipley picked off another race win at Thunder Raceway in Show Low, AZ on Friday night, then backed up that performance with a second place run on Saturday night to extend his already large points lead in the ASCS 2 Cactus Region.

 

July 1st, 2011 - Mattox Sweeps at Brill

July 1st.   Fred Mattox had one wail of a night at Brill Motor Speedway in Oklahoma. After winning his heat race, Fred led every lap of the the twenty lap A Main to score his first Brill victory virtually unchallenged.

 

July 1st, 2011 - Melton Wins at RPM

July 1st.   Justin Melton has had his fair share of success in micro sprints, karts and 360 sprints. So it comes as no surprise that in one of his first 305 sprint runs, the Dallas native found victory lane, this time on a Friday night at RMP Speedway in Crandall, TX. Congratulations Justin, Mike and the entire team!

 

June 26th, 2011 - Cody Baker wins in his XXX at Double X

June 26th.   Cody Baker found Double X Speedway to his liking on Sunday night, as he made his way into the lead on 12 and led the final half of the race comfortably to score the win in his XXX chassis. For Baker, it was win number one on the season in his XXX powered by a home built motor.

 

June 26th, 2011 - Lehr Goes Last To First for Second Straight Win

June 26th.   Todd Lehr has long been known as one of the fastest men at Wilmot Raceway, and this past Saturday night confirmed it. After a lap three spinout sent him to the rear of the field in the 1200 division, Todd stood hard on the loud pedal and passed the entire field on his way to claiming his second straight win in his DLX 1200 chassis.

 

June 25th, 2011 - Richert 2 for 2 at Princeton

June 25th.   Jerry Richert Jr loves running his XXX at Princeton Speedway. On Saturday night, Jerry won his second feature in as many tries with the UMSS sprint cars at the Minnesota track, leading all 20 laps from the front row en route to his second feature win of the year in as many nights at Princeton.

 

June 25th, 2011 - Davis Bounces Back For Victory

June 25th.   Three weeks ago, Gary Davis left the race track with a destroyed race car. Saturday night at Sunset Speedway however, Davis had a new car put together and this time came away with his first career Northwest Wingless Tour sprint car series main event win, capping off a clean sweep of the entire program.  Davis, out of Albany, Ore. and a former USCA champion, led all but four of the scheduled 30 laps in the main event, taking over the lead from NWWT points leader Corey Esteban on Lap 5. From there, Davis never looked back as he won by more than three seconds at the finish line in his No. 9 Chevy-powered Triple X.

 

June 25th, 2011 - Peterson Gets 2nd Win Of 2011

June 25th.    Jared Peterson looked like he was shot out of a cannon on Saturday night at Skagit Speedway, as “Petey” found winner’s circle for the second time on the year. From his outside row one starting spot, Jared beat fellow Team XXX driver Rod Perkins into turn number one, then streaked away from the field, enjoying a half straightaway or more advantage for the duration of the 25 lap 360 feature. Congratulations Jared – lunch is on Kaleb this week.

 

June 25th, 2011 - Harkness Back In Victory Lane At Skagit

June 25th.    A 5 year drought was ended Saturday night at Skagit Speedway in Alger, WA as Brandon “PeeWee” Harkness put the Steve Parker owned #23 in victory lane. Harkness, a former track champion and current 360 division track record holder, has been off and on in the driver’s seat for multiple owners since roughly 2006. After Parker, the car owner, was injured early in the year, Harkness got the call to dust off his helmet and come back to the track. On Saturday night, Brandon stalked Cory Swatzina for the first 18 laps, then with two to go, narrowly shot the gap between Cory and the wall on the front straightaway to take the lead and the eventual win in Parker’s #23 XXX chassis.

 

June 24th, 2011 - Esh Hammers To Victory At The Grove

June 24th.   “The Hammer,” Doug Esh of Lancaster hammered his way through the field to pick up his first sprint car win of the season at Williams Grove Speedway Friday night, chiseling his way past Aaron Ott with eight laps to go in the 25-lap main for 410 sprint cars.

June 24th, 2011 - Patton Wins Powri Mike Phillips Memorial Prelim

June 24th.   Win number one on the year was a big one for Jacob Patton, driver of the Quick Racing Products #79 XXX 600. Jacob led close to two thirds of the laps of the preliminary night of the Mike Phillips Memorial at Southern Illinois Raceway in Marion, IL to claim his first Powri series win of 2011. The win set the tone for Patton’s final night, where he brought home a top ten run against the ultra-tough field.

 

June 24th, 2011 - Fell Captures First Win Of 2011 With A Clean Sweep

June 24th.   Aaron Fell pulled off the ever elusive clean sweep in the 1200 class. After rolling an eight for the invert, Aaron methodically worked his way forward until he was right on the rear nerf of race leader. On a lap 18 restart, Fell found traction on the inside of turn one, blasting by Davison coming through turn two to assume the lead and take his first win of the season. Aaron also set quick time and won his heat race.

 

June 17th, 2011 - Grubaugh Garners ASCS Sprints on Dirt Win at Cherry Raceway

June 17th.   A grandstand full of racing fans came out to Cherry Raceway on a beautiful Friday night in Northern Michigan to watch the Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP and they did not leave disappointed as Ryan Grubaugh took the 25 lap caution free feature.

June 18th, 2011 - Galloway Wins At Lincoln

June 18th.   Jay Galloway took the lead from polesitter Steve Storrie on lap four and dominated en route to his first career 358 sprint car win in the regularly scheduled 20-lap feature at Lincoln Speedway. Galloway’s final margin of victory was 1.39. "I’ve won a lot of motorcross races," said a jubilant Galloway upon exiting his Helicopter Applicators #27, "But there’s nothing like racing a sprint car. My wife keeps reminding me that I don’t do this for a living, because if I did, we’d be poor!".

 

June 18th, 2011 - Kristan Scores Win #1 Of 2011 At Wilmot

June 18th.   One of the most unique and colorful members of Team XXX, Brain Kristan found victory lane for the first time in 2011, as he topped the winged sprint car division at Wilmot Raceway in Wisconsin. Using a beautiful slide job to take the lead mid race, Kristan has his XXX hooked up on the very dry slick surface en route to the win.

June 18th.   Todd Lehr performs the all allusive clean sweep at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin.

 

June 17th, 2011 - Colby Estes Back in Victory Lane

June 17th.   After a short absence from victory lane, Team Estes found their way back to the promised land this past Friday night. Colby Estes took his XXX 600 mini sprint to victory lane at Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, TX in the non-wing division.

 

June 17th, 2011 - Dutton Back In Victory Lane

June 17th.   A change in venue seems to have helped David Dutton. While Creek County Speedway is closed for repairs after disastrous weather, the Creek County Champ Sprints moved to Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, OK. The major beneficiary so far has been David Dutton, who after picking up a race win late last season, found victory lane again in his XXX sprint car this past Friday night. 

 

June 11th, 2011 - S-Haud Destroys K-C 410s

June 11th.   Sheldon Haudenschild has been getting faster and faster as the weather has warmed up, and this past Saturday night at K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, OH, Haud was simply on fire en route to winning his first feature of the year. Piloting his XXX chassis in the 410 division, Haud had the car hooked up anywhere he wanted to go, as he took over the lead early and ran away from the field for his first feature win in 2011.

 

June 11th, 2011 - Team XXX Wins in UK, Belgium

June 11th.   Team XXX has officially gone global with our race winners. Duncan Panton purchased his XXX from Kear’s Speed Shop in late 2010, and has since visited victory lane multiple times. Duncan officially owns the first XXX chassis wins in the United Kingdom and Belgium, with victories coming May 22nd at Warneton Speedway in Belgium and June 11th at Arena Essex Raceway in the UK.

 

June 11th, 2011 - McClelland Wins 3rd straight weekend

June 11th.   It’s been impossible to keep Sean McClelland out of victory lane over the past three weeks. “Supe” once again parked his XXX in victory lane, this time at Lake Ozark Speedway in Missouri. Sean once again was the class of the field this past Saturday night, as he bested 20+ other sprints to take his third XXX win of the season.

 

June 11th, 2011 - Tyler Thomas delivers first XXX Powri Midget Win

June 10th.   Midget ace Tyler Thomas stepped up his game this past weekend, as he won his first career “open motor” midget main event and the first for Team XXX with the Powri midget series. Thomas took over the lead early, finding moisture in the low groove where no one else could in his XXX midget, then led with little challenge over the course of the main event at West Plains Motor Speedway in Missouri.

 

June 11th, 2011 - Carpenter Debuts New Car – Win

June 11th.  Kelsey Carpenter was lightning quick on Saturday night, as he put his new XXX chassis to the test on Skagit Speedway’s 3/10 mile clay. Kelsey led all 25 of the 360 feature, holding off a stiff challenge from Mack Brown to score his second career win in the division.

 

June 11th, 2011 - Roberts wins 3rd of the year at Skagit

June 11th.  Derek Roberts couldn’t ask for a better start to his sprint car career. After climbing into a sprint car with two races left in his 2010 campaign, Derek’s true rookie season has been lights out at Skagit Speedway, as the “Flyin Fireman” not only set quick time, but took home the main event win as well in the Sportsman Sprint division this past Saturday night. On the year, Robert’s has won three features, which over his seven race career, makes for a pretty amazing win %.

 

June 11th, 2011 - Defending Champ Shelton Back on Top

June 11th. Defending Cottage Grove Speedway Limited Sprint Champion Heath Shelton made his way back to victory lane on Saturday night. Shelton, piloting his Shrek themed #75 XXX, led all 25 laps on his way to the main event win.

 

June 11th, 2011 - 3 in a Row for Johnson

June 11th.  Congratulations go out to Bill Johnson, who now has three main event wins on the year and two and a row at Arlington Raceway in Minnesota. The St Peter native topped the field for the second weekend in a row and third time on the year by taking over the lead in the late stages of the main.

 

June 4th, 2011 - Montieth Claims Fourth Of The Year In Weldon Sterner Memorial At Lincoln

June 4th.   Brian Montieth fought off aches and pains, three rain delays, and lapped traffic to score his fourth Lincoln win of the year in a thrilling 30-lap 8th Annual Weldon Sterner Memorial for 410 sprint cars on Saturday night.

June 4th.   XXX's own Jared Peterson found victory lane with a torrid green to checkered charge to win the Budweiser 360 Main Event. Fellow XXX racer Alan Munn took off to the early lead before Peterson slid by in traffic then skillfully sliced and diced through the field for his first win in 2011.  Congrats Jared ... lunch is on Colton this week.

 

June 4th, 2011 - Adams On Top Again

June 4th.   Koty Adams has been the man to beat with the Southern Thunder Sprints over the past two seasons, and he proved it again this past Saturday night. Racing at Leesville 171 Speedway in Louisiana, Adams rolled to his third XXX win of 2011.

 

June 4th, 2011 - Make it 2 for Johnson

June 4th.   Late race heroics gave Bill Johnson another victory in his XXX sprint car this past weekend. At Arlington Raceway in Minnesota, Bill waited until the closing laps of the contest to make his move on the leader, then barely edged out the competition at the start / finish line, picking up the W by the margin of only a couple of feet.

 

June 3rd, 2011 - Slizzling Sooner Sprint Nationals Goes to Sean McClelland

June 3rd.  Persistence can pay off in many ways. Sometimes its for that career promotion, other times its to reach a social status and if your Sean McClelland, its to show your fellow peers that winning is the only thing acceptable. Tonight’s inaugural running of the Oil Capital Racing Series sanctioned “Sooner Sprint Nationals” at the Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee featured a 25-lap race that was sizzling with excitement to the end.

June 3rd, 2011 - Thiel Drives to First XXX Win

June 3rd.  Scotty Thiel joined Team XXX over the past offseason, and his XXX chassis has brought him solid results so far, with numerous podium finishes. This past weekend, Thiel added his first win of the year to his resume, beating the MSA Sprints at Manitowoc County Fairgrounds in Wisconsin. Thiel paced the field for most of the 30 lap feature.

 

June 3rd, 2011 - Richert Is The King at Princeton

June 3rd.  Jerry Richert Jr visited victory lane for the first time Friday night, taking home the victory over the UMSS Sprints at Princeton Speedway in Minnesota. After winning his heat race, Richert slipped underneath Brad Barickman for the lead on lap seven, then masterfully navigated lapped traffic on his way to the win.

 

June 3rd, 2011 - Brookens Wins at Path Valley

June 3rd.  Jimmy Brookens found the results he was looking for on Friday night at Path Valley Speedway, as the track ran dual features to make up for previously rained out events. In feature one, Brookens navigated his way to a second place finish, then turned around and applied everything he’d learned about the track to set his car up perfectly for feature #2 as he cruised to victory in the evening’s finale.

 

June 3rd, 2011 - Owings Wins #2

June 3rd.  Many Pennsylvania Tracks have been running twin features recently to help their drivers make up for missed seat time due to the wet weather that has plagued the USA this race season. Steve Owings was the beneficiary to the twin feature trend, as he won the makeup feature from 5/27 at Trail-Way Speedway in their 358 division. Owings ran from eighth all the way up to the lead by the end of the seventh lap to claim the win.

 

May 29th, 2011 - Bacon Breaks Through at Steve King Memorial

May 29th.  Brady Bacon topped the ASCS Sooner / NCRA Sprints on Sunday night for his first feature win of the year at the Steve King Memorial in Jetmore, Kansas. Racing at The Great American Dirt Track, Bacon took the lead around lap twenty and held off overall points champion Jack dover to score the feature win which makes him 3 out of 4 at Steve King Memorial races in his XXX chassis.

 

May 28th, 2011 - Montieth Goes Wire-To-Wire To Claim Lincoln Keystone Cup Win

May 28th.  Lincoln Speedway is Brian Montieth’s house. He proved it again Saturday night, leading from start to finish to claim the $5,000 top prize over a stellar field in the 30-lap Keystone Cup Series feature event.  Lincoln’s three-time defending track champ started on the outside of the front row and road the cushion to the lead through the first two turns and never looked back. Although he encountered lapped traffic as early as lap five and raced wheel-to-wheel while trying to hold off Ott over the middle stages of the race, Montieth pulled away after a 26th lap caution to a 3.03-second win.

 

May 27th, 2011 - Hummel Wins #2

May 28th.  The transition from 270cc to 600cc racing has been an easy one for Jake Hummel. Over Memorial Day weekend, Hummel picked up his second win of the year at Greenwood Valley Action Track in Orangeville, PA in his XXX 600. Jake beat the 25 car field to take the win at the annual Racer’s Tribute Memorial.

 

May 27th, 2011 - Roberts Rips Around Skagit for Wire to Wire Win

May 27th.  After picking up his first career win with a pass in the final corner of the final lap, Derek Roberts made it a little bit easier on himself on Saturday night at Skagit Speedway by leading all 20 laps comfortably in the Sportsman Sprint division. Roberts led an all XXX top three, with Steve Parker and Rob Schroder filling the podium with their XXX chassis.

 

May 27th, 2011 - McClelland Tops OCRS For First XXX Win in ‘11

May 27th.  Sean McClelland loves his XXX chassis, and for good reason: The Reigning and Defending ASCS Sooner Region Champion is fast everywhere he goes with his car. This past Friday night, McClelland strapped in a carbureted motor to his XXX for the first time and visited victory lane at the OCRS race at Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, OK. Sean not only won the race, but was so fast that he was lapping cars by the seventh circuit. “It’s my car and this is the first time we have ran a carbureted motor in it and it drove like a dream. I have to thank XXX (chassis) for that”, said Sean in post race interviews.

May 21st, 2011 - The Joyceville Jet Wins SOS Opener

May 21st.   Bradley Terrell has 11 career wins at Petaluma Speedway, but it was his first win in a XXX chassis that may go down as the most memorable. After trading the lead with fellow Sebastopol, CA native Geoff Ensign, Terrell would go wheel to wheel and wing to wing with Ensign in a drag race to the final flag, with Bradley taking the win by eight thousandths of a second.

 
 
 

May 21st, 2011 - Smith, Shouse & Brewer Put Team XXX On Top at CCS

May 21st.   All three Sprint Car divisions at Creek County Speedway were topped by XXX chassis this past weekend, with Danny Smith, Andy Shouse and Cody Brewer topping the action.

In the Champ Sprint class, Smith won his first feature of the season in his XXX chassis, leading every lap of the feature. Three of the top five finishers were in XXX chassis.

 

 

 

In the Injected Sprint class, Shouse also was a first time winner on the year, driving his Bishop Racing House Car to the win after leading every lap. Much like the Champ Sprints, the top 5 was dominated by Team XXX drivers, with 4 of the top 5 cars being XXX chassis.

 

 

 

The E Sprint division is gradually building at Creek County Speedway, and this week, it was Cody Brewer finding victory lane in a former Brady Bacon Racing XXX.

May 14th, 2011 - Rilat Caps Comeback with ASCS Win

May 14th.   Travis Rilat completed one of the all time great comeback stories in Sprint Car racing this past weekend, when he won the ASCS Gulf South main event at Texana Raceway Park in Edna, TX. Less than one year after suffering third degree burns in a methanol explosion, Rilat found lady luck smiling on him as he piloted his XXX sprint. After trading moves with race leader Jason Johnson, Travis took the lead for good in turn three of the final lap en route to his first victory since the accident. We at Triple X Race Co are extremely proud to be associated with Travis and send out huge congratulations on returning to victory lane where he belongs!

 

May 14th, 2011 - Covington Picks Up XXX Win #1

May 14th.   Current ASCS Sooner Region points leader Matt Covington took a new ride to victory lane this past weekend. Driving the Dennis Marshala owned #11c XXX, Covington won his first feature of the year and in the process extended his points lead by leading all but one lap of the 25 lap main at Lawton Speedway in Oklahoma. After coming close to race wins in previous races in his family owned XXX, Matt won his heat and almost went wire to wire on the tough SOnner region field despite battling brake issues.

 

May 14th, 2011 - Herrington Wins 3rd Cajun Sprinter Main

May 14th.   2011 is turning into a big year for Mike Herrington. Racing at Baton Rouge Raceway in Louisiana, Herrington found victory lane for the third time this year in his XXX chassis, topping the field of 21 Cajun Sprints for the W.

 

May 14th, 2011 - Beason Sweeps at Creek County

May 14th.   In only his second race of the season, Jonathan Beason made his presence felt at Creek County Speedway in Oklahoma. After winning his heat race, Beason surged to the front of the field by lap five and led the rest of the way to his first win in 2011 in his XXX Chassis in the Champ Sprint division.

 

May 14th, 2011 - Henderson & XXX Win 1st SST Feature at Devil’s Bowl

May 14th.   The series debut for the Sprint Series of Texas turned into a big celebration for XXX, as Rodney Henderson put his #67 XXX chassis in victory lane. Starting 11th, Henderson quickly made his way up to second place before securing the lead for good on lap 11.

 

May 13th, 2011 - Tough Night Pays Dividends for Christian

May 13th.   Jimmy Christian had a much easier go of things this past Friday night at Ocean Speedway in California, as he won his second straight feature event in the Wingless Spec Sprint division. As opposed to the previous week where he had to replace a steering pump and started dead last (yet still won), Christian parlayed an outside row three starting position to take the win in his XXX chassis and in the process, extended his points lead on the early season.

 

May 7th, 2011 - Johnson Back to Winning Ways at Arlington Opener

May 7th.   Bill Johnson set the tone for a successful season with a win on the opening night of racing at Arlington Raceway in Minnesota. The veteran from St Peter not only won the main event but picked up the heat race win in the IMCA sanctioned Sprint division.

 

May 7th, 2011 - Brookens Wins Again at Shippensburg

May 7th.   Jimmy Brookens won again this past weekend in his XXX 600. Racing at the track just minutes from his backdoor, Brookens earned top honors over the 22 car field at Shippensburg Speedway in Pennsylvania.

 

May 7th, 2011 - Dothage Wins at MRP

May 7th.   Brent Dothage has visited victory lane at Marysville Raceway Park many times in his career, and this past Saturday night he found himself again in victory lane at the California track. Facing a strong field of 360 sprints, it was Dothage standing tall at the end of the evening for his first win of 2011.

 

May 6th, 2011 - Tough Night Pays Dividends for Christian

May 6th.   It was a roller coaster of an evening for Jimmy Christian on Friday night. Driving his Wingless Spec Sprint XXX chassis at Ocean Speedway in California, Christian was behind the eight ball early in the night after blowing up a steering gear during his heat race. After swapping out the gear, Christian made the most of a bad situation as he raced from dead last in the A Main to Victory Lane, blowing by race leader Ryan Bernal in the late stages of the contest to take his first feature win of the year.

 

April 30th, 2011 - Allen Ends 12 Year Break With 358 Win

April 30th.   Joey Allen and the Allen family have a long and storied tradition of winning in Pennsylvania. After a 12 year layoff, Joey Allen resumed his winning ways this past Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway in PA, leading all 20 laps of the main event. Allen and his team proved that it isn’t always the big hauler teams that triumph in Central PA, as his car owner brings his XXX chassis to the track on an open trailer towed by a Chevy Suburban.

 

April 30th, 2011 - Third Championship for Brindle Closes NZ Season

April 30th.   Former New Zealand National Champion Dean Brindle closed out his race season with a bang as he defended his Waikato Sprint Car Championship for the second straight season at Kihikihi Speedway in Te Awamutu, New Zealand. Brindle won three championships over the race year in his XXX chassis and will be looking for more accolades as he prepares head stateside for race action on May 28th at Skagit Speedway.

 

April 30th, 2011 - Dolick Wins in Western PA

April 30th.   Jason Dolick rode his #D12 XXX chassis to victory lane in Western Pennsylvania this past weekend. Running at Mercer Raceway Park, Dolick would lead 17 of the 25 laps on his way to victory lane over the tough 410 sprint car field. Making the win more impressive was the fact that Dolick has a two man team; himself and father Larry. Well done, Team Dolick!

 

April 30th, 2011 - Westfall Wins Wingless @ Eldora

April 30th.   Non Wing ace Matt Westfall brought home top honors from this past weekend’s non-sanctioned race at Eldora Speedway. Following some early race carnage, Westfall had nothing but green flag laps to figure out how to catch and pass Scotty Weir for the chance at the big trophy and big check. On lap 20, Matt made his move, sliding inside Weir then holding him off for the final five circuits to take the win at Ohio’s most famous raceway in his XXX chassis.

 

April 30th, 2011 - Miller Tears Up The Grove, Sweeps NWWT Opener

April 30th.   Kyle Miller loves his non-wing sprint car racing, and it showed on Saturday as he raced his way to a very dominating clean sweep of the season opener for the NorthWest Wingless Tour sprint car series at Cottage Grove Speedway.  Miller, from Eugene, set fast time in qualifying, charged from sixth to quickly take the lead and win his heat race, charged from the fourth spot to win the trophy dash and the pole for the main event and then led all 25 laps of that main event for his second career NWWT victory aboard the Scott Miller No. 10 Springer-powered Triple X.

 

April 30th, 2011 - Roberts First Career Win Comes in XXX

April 30th.   Skagit Speedway was a wide open three lane race track on Saturday night, which allowed Jayme Barnes run up against the fence and all the way down on the bottom to lead all 25 laps of the Main for the win. Including a lap of 11.079 on just the second night of racing this year.

 

April 30th, 2011 - Roberts First Career Win Comes in XXX

April 30th.   Derek Roberts has made the transition to a full size sprint car look easy. After cutting his teeth in the local mini sprint wars, Roberts graced victory lane for the first of what he hopes will be many times as he won the Sportsman Sprint main event at Skagit Speedway on Saturday. The win was the first in Roberts’ open wheel career, and came on a kamikaze dive to the inside groove of the final corner on the final lap in his XXX chassis. To top it off, the win came in Derek’s 4th Sprint Car main event ever.

 

April 29th, 2011 - Steed Has Speed to Burn at RPM

April 29th.   Picking up where he left off in 2010, Dalton Steed was an early season winner at RPM Speedway in Crandall, TX. After winning his heat race, Steed finished the night off with a win in the A Main in the 305 sprint class in his XXX chassis.

 

April 15th, 2011 - Owings Wins First 358 Main in XXX

April 15th.   Belated congratulations go out to Steve Owings in Pennsylvania who visited victory lane for the first time on Friday, April 15th. Taking on the tough 358 field at Trail-way Speedway in Hanover, Owings scored his first feature win aboard his brand new XXX chassis.

 

April 23rd, 2011 - Herrington Wins #2 of 2011

April 23rd.   The Cajun Sprinters Association wandered all the way out into Florida’s Everglades to pick up a race date at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL. When the dust settled from the past weekend, it was Michael Herrington winning his second feature of the year in his XXX Chassis. Congratulations Michael!

 

April 23rd, 2011 - Dozier Wins at MRP

April 23rd.   Brandon Dozier and the Performance Auto Supply racing team scored a victory this past weekend at Marysville Raceway Park in California. Racing in the winged 360 division, Dozier led all 25 laps to pickup his first main event win in only his third night in his new XXX chassis. Congrats to Brandon, Cort, Rich and the rest of the Performance Auto Supply guys on the W!

 

April 23rd, 2011 - Josh Shipley Wins ASCS2 in XXX 600

April 23rd.   Josh Shipley made some major waves in Arizona in only his second night in a XXX 600. After finishing second in his heat, Shipley parlayed his outside row one starting spot into a wire-to-wire race win at USA Raceway in Tuscon, AZ. The win also catapulted Shipley into the points lead for the ASCS 2 Cactus Region.

 

April 23rd, 2011 - Leave it to Beaver at Skagit’s Opener

April 23rd.   Steve Parker wasted no time reminding the Skagit Speedway Sportsman division that he is a former champion looking to reclaim his title. On a cold Saturday night in Washington, Parker led all 20 laps of the main event to take an early lead on the points chase in his #23 XXX.

 

April 22nd, 2011 - Bantam Wins at McCook Debut

April 22nd.   Driving a brand new XXX chassis, Randy Bantam won the season opening race at McCook Speedway in Nebraska. With the track under new management, Bantam brought out his 305 Sprint to help develop open wheel racing at the track where his father took over as promoter and led the last couple of circuits en route to parking his #5R XXX in victory lane for the first of what promises to be many times.

 

April 16th, 2011 - Team Estes Wins Again at Cowtown as Colby Clean Sweeps

April 16th.   Not to be outdone by older brother DJ, Colby Estes pulled off a clean sweep of his own Saturday night at Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale. After winning his heat race with DJ on his tail, Colby grabbed his first career win in a 600 by besting the 16 car field in the A Feature. With the victory, Team Estes visited victory lane three times in their past three races.

 

April 15th, 2011 - Second Straight Weekend of Winning for DJ Estes

April 15th.   DJ Estes has found the long hours spent in the shop over the winter paying off, as the Mansfield TX native visited victory lane for the second straight week. On Friday night at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco, Estes won his second feature of the year and second in as many weeks, racing his XXX 600 to the win over the 17 car field.

 

April 9th, 2011 - Montieth Becomes First Central PA Repeat Winner in 410 Sprints

April 9th.   Brian Montieth continues to find new ways to amaze.  The driver known as "the Edge" actually saw just about every square inch of the Lincoln 3/8's mile in coming from 15th starting spot to claim his second win of the year in the 25-lap "410" sprint car feature at Lincoln Speedway Saturday night.
"It seemed like it would ever end," said Montieth upon exiting his Premier Auto Works/Auto Locator #21 in victory lane, "Starting back there in 15th...the track was narrow...it’s hard to get up through without being dirty. I really didn’t think I was going to this, and I picked someone else to win this tonight.".

April 9th, 2011 - Smith On Top in Sydney

April 9th. One of Australia’s most promising young Speedcar (midget) drivers, Matt Smith scored a big late season win at Tyrepower Sydney Speedway in Australia. Racing the pink & black #69 XXX midget, Smith worked his way from third to first in what was considered a superb drive on a cold April night. Congratulations Matt!

 

April 9th, 2011 - A Good Night for Estes @ Cowtown

April 9th. Longtime Team XXX driver DJ Estes finally found luck breaking his direction as he broke into victory lane on Saturday night. At his home track of Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale TX, Estes broke through for his first A Main victory of the year in the 600 A Class division in his Smiley’s sponsored #74 XXX. DJ also won his heat race.

 

April 8th, 2011 - Golobic Dominant at Placerville Opener

April 8th. Friday April 8th marked the beginning of the 2011 championship season at Placerville Speedway in California. On this night, it was a former champion team with one of the best young drivers in California dominating the field for win #1 on the year. Shane Golobic ran away with the feature win, leading wire-to-wire in the 25 lap contest to score the victory in the Bullet Racing #35 XXX owned by John Taylor. Look for Golobic and Bullet Racing in victory lane many more times over the course of the season.

 

April 1st, 2011 - Reutzel Scores $3K in ASCS Action

April 1st.   2009 ASCS Gulf South Region and the current rookie points leader with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour, Aaron Reutzel utilized a week off from the national circuit to his advantage, scoring a Friday night win at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco. Reutzel piloted his XXX chassis to lead with three laps to go en route to the $3,000 payday.

 

April 2nd, 2011 - McClelland Wins at Creek County

April 2nd.   Two time ASCS Sooner region champion Brian McClelland returned to victory lane in his XXX, as he won his second straight Injected Sprint feature at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, OK. McClelland led every lap of the main event to claim his second XXX win of the season.

 

March 26th, 2011 - Brookens Wins Second Feature of ‘11

March 26th.   The Hot Streak continues for Jimmy Brookens in Pennsylvania. One week after winning his first feature of the year at Shippensburg Speedway, Brookens was in victory lane again on March 26th after leading all 20 laps of the main event at Trail-Way Speedway.

 

March 26th, 2011 - Brent Marks Scores His 3rd Career Win Early In Season At Lincoln

March 26th.   Brent Marks loves cold weather! The young Myerstown racer was glad Lincoln Speedway braved the elements Saturday night as he drove away from the field to capture his third career 25-lap 410 Sprint car feature win.  Marks, who started fourth in the feature lineup, took control from Gerard McIntyre, Jr. on the 10th lap, then cruised to the victory to become the seventh different winner in as many 410 Sprint car features run thus far during the 2011 season in Central PA. “I’m sure glad Lincoln raced tonight-I love cold weather,” stated Marks after earning the $3,200 payday aboard the TJ’s Body Shop, BAPS Auto Paints and Supply, Triple X Chassis No.

 

March 26th, 2011 - Herrington Wins Cajun Sprint Feature

March 26th.   Michael Herrington had himself in the right place at the right time as he picked up his first feature win of 2011. After early race leaders encountered mechanical misfortunes, Herrington found himself running second with three laps left in the main. With a full head of steam built up, Herrington blew by the leader to take the win at A-1 Raceway in Lacombe, LA in his XXX chassis.

 

March 25th, 2011 - XXX Takes 3 of Top 5 at NZ Grand Prix

March 25th.   The Edge Parts & Performance guys have been on rails down in New Zealand with another win at another huge event. The NZ Grand Prix, one of New Zealand’s top events for Sprint Cars, saw XXX chassis finish 1st, 3rd and 5th out of the loaded 24 car field. Former Australian National Champ Dean Brindle brought home top honors on this evening, inheriting the race lead late in the race and coasting his way to victory. Team XXX driver finished third after setting second quick time. Winner the past two weekends, Jason Scott ended up in 5th place after starting in 13th position. Congrats!

 

March 20th, 2011 - Brookens Goes 3-2-1

March 20th.   Jimmy Brookens went step by step up the ladder of success this past weekend, progressing one place in his finish each night until ending up in victory lane on Sunday night at Shippensburg Speedway. Brookens opened the weekend with a 3rd place run at Path Valley Speedway in PA, then gassed his way to a runner up finish on Saturday night at Trail Way Speedway. After coming close the first two night, Brookens parlayed his front row starting spot to a race win at his home track on Sunday night, leading every lap of the race. Congratulations on the stout weekend Jim!

 

March 12th and 19th, 2011 - Scott Wins South Island Title and Cromwell Speedway Championship

March 12th and 19th.   Jason Scott has been on an absolute tear in New Zealand over the past two weeks, taking home two big race wins as the race season in the Southern Hemisphere winds to a close. On Saturday March 12th, Scott took his Edge Parts & Performance XXX chassis to the club championship at Central Motor Speedway in Cromwell. On the following Saturday, it was Scott again prevailing over the field as he took home one of the top honors in NZ Sprint Racing, winning the South Island Title at Invercargill Raceway. After starting on the pole, Scott led all 25 laps of action on the tricky slick track. Look for Jason to make his USA debut coming in May as he and the Edge Parts & Performance team (New Zealand’s official XXX dealer) will travel to the Pacific NW for more Sprint Car action.

 

March 12th, 2011 - Esh Returns To Victory Lane At Lincoln

March 12th.   Last year wasn't exactly what Doug Esh would have called one of his better seasons of his 410 Sprint car career. Enter former car owners Dick and Leslie Leach and his new XXX chassis nto the picture.  During the offseason, the Leach Motorsports team was reformed with Esh as the driver and it didn't take long for the team to find its way back to victory lane.  After leading the first two laps of Saturday's 25-lap 410 Sprint car feature at Lincoln Speedway, Esh settled into the second spot until making a late race move on Brian Leppo and drove to his 24th career feature win at the track.

 

March 12th, 2011 - Jones Wins 3rd Consecutive Australian 360 Sprintcar Champion

March 12th.   Ryan Jones has shown his growing maturity as a sprintcar driver with a calculated win in the 2011 SCCA Australian 360 Sprintcar Championship at Murray Bridge Speedway. Good heat results on night one of the Championship put the former champion on the front row of the grid for the Preliminary A Main. Despite striking trouble during the race and going back to the rear of the field, Jones kept his cool and fought back to finish tenth. This turned out to be a telling point in his quest for his third 360 Title as it kept him in touch with the points leaders going in to night 2. Another two top three placings in his heats on the second night gave Jones the coveted pole position for the Championship decider. He wasn’t going to throw the advantage away and raced to victory. The win gave Ryan Jones an unprecedented third SCCA Australian 360 Sprintcar Championship.

 

March 6th 2011 - Judd Victorious At Sungold Stadium

March 6th.   Sungold Stadium enjoyed perfect weather as three features were decided on Saturday night with Camperdown’s Jeff Judd powering to the Wingless Sprint feature win. Brendan Balcombe won his first heat of the night but Judd sounded a clear warning when he romped from sixth to second, and followed that performance up with a win in his second heat. Judd then motored to victory in the 20 lap final for the Wingless Sprints final.

 

March 5th, 2011 - Montieth Wins Ice Breaker at Lincoln.  3 XXX's in top 5.

March 5th.   Brian Montieth, a three-time Lincoln Speedway track champion,  led every lap of the Lincoln Speedway Icebreaker 30. Montieth, of Phoenixville, earned $3,500 in a car owned by Hanover’s Jerry Parrish. “We needed that starting position,” Montieth said. “The car was excellent. That was one of the best cars I’ve had for a day show on a slick racetrack.”.

Saturday turned out to be a great day for TeamXXX in PA.  Montieth's victory was followed up by a hard charging Adam Wilt who finished the race challenging for 2nd, but ran out of laps to finish 3rd.  Doug Esh made his debut in the Kinard Trucking #30 a good one, and come home 5th.

 

February 19th, 2011 - Jones Breaks Through at Murray Bridge

February 19th.   Following an absolutely terrible, horrible, no good very bad run of luck, Ryan Jones finally conquered the mechanical gremlins that have plagued his 2010 / 2011 campaign. Jones’ first win of the season came this past Saturday night at Murray Bridge Speedway where he won the 360 feature.
 

February 12th, 2011 - Quinn Wins 1st Main in XXX Chassis

February 12th.   Belated congratulations going out to Sprint Car rookie Brendan Quinn, who scored his first main event win this past season at Speedway City in Australia. Running in the 360 division, Quinn was dominating in his performance on February 12th, leading the feature by as much as a half track during the 360 Sprint feature. With only 8 races to his credit, Quinn posted a win, a second and third place finish during his first season in sprints. Congratulations Brendan!

 

February 6th, 2011 - Anderson Secures Championship for Havlik Racing

February 6th.   Tyler Anderson can add “Midget Champion” to his growing list of accolades as the young Washingtonian picked up the Salem Indoor Series 2010 / 2011 championship over the weekend for Havlik Motorsports. Anderson and Ryan Cully teamed up for 3 wins over the course of the year for late car owner Mike Havlik en route to the title. Congratulations from XXX on helping Mike accomplish a lifelong goal of being a championship winning car owner!

 

January 22nd, 2011 - Anderson Wins 2nd at Salem

January 22nd.   Everett, WA native Tyler Anderson now has two career midget victories after this past weekend. Driving the Havlik Motorsports #66, Anderson won his second main in as many months on Saturday night at Salem Indoor raceway in Oregon. The Havlik Motorsports Midget continues to lead the points standings in the Midget Division during Salem’s Winter Series.

 

January 2nd, 2011 - Muir Musters a Win at the Muster

January 2nd.   Mat Muir brought home the big check from Perth Motorplex’s annual 360 Muster, held on Sunday, January Second. Muir was triumphant in a hard fought battle over the other 14 360 competitors at the event which saw races run in five different divisions of Sprint Cars and a class of Formula 500s.

 

January 1st, 2011 - XXX Midget Wins Driller In ASCS Ecotec Chevy Midgets

January 1st.   Mike Ward started Saturday night’s feature event from the second row inside, outside Tim Crawley who had earned the pole position by winning both his heat race and qualifier on Friday. And, for most of the 20-lap distance, a Crawley triumph seemed a certainty. But, as Crawley worked the upper portion of the track, Ward began to close in as the laps clicked off. Ward poked his nose underneath Crawley a time or two to challenge for the lead, with Crawley countering by moving to the bottom of the track. Keeping the pressure on, Ward took quick advantage when Crawley slipped off the bottom exiting turn four with the checkered flag in sight, motoring into the lead and taking the win by a slim 0.056-margin.

January 1st, 2011 - XXX/DLX 1200 Wins Driller In 1200cc Non-Wing Mini Sprints

January 1st.   Derek Holmwood made the long haul from Bellingham, WA, worth it by racing to victory lane in the first 1200cc Non-Wing Mini Sprint feature event in Tulsa Shootout history. While Holmwood started seventh, he needed only a handful of laps to race into second behind pole winner Kevin Roberts, Jr. Working the topside of the track, Holmwood took command on the seventh round only to have Lynn Ambrose charge from third past both Roberts and Holmwood to take the lead the next time around. With Ambrose working low, Holmwood kept at it up top and reclaimed the lead on the 14th lap en route to victory lane.
